FAT! Again...

So summer has been stressful with no time to allot to good habits. So my fitness has suffered and along with it, my waistline. Suffice it to say, I am by no means a happy camper. By no means fit. So that only leaves one thing... I'm fat again!

I'll be working to fix this in the coming months....

...

What a stressful week... which of course translates to fat when coupled with depression. That describes me to the tee.

Back to Work...

I've been slumping for the last (almost a) year. I actually dropped some weight while looking for new employment and then when I found it... the environment and situation has been so stressful and the huge change in lifestyle have caused me to... gain some weight.

I'm coming in around 180lbs. After some of my standard clothing started to not fit... I knew I was fat and definitely not happy.

So begins another journey to being somewhat fit and a lot more happy. Racing weight? Who knows... I have to find a way first... One of the biggest problems is that I've been through this before and know how hard it is to get to the other side.

I'll keep up the posts as best I can. In a few months I will hopefully be in beach condition.

Long Time...

... and today, I am FAT! Again.

It has been a rough year since my last entry but for the record, I am at 179 lbs and 16% body fat. For the story behind the story, check out my companion blog...

Still Falling...

My weight is still falling slowly. I am down to 162.5 pounds... and the scale flickers to 162 as I stand on it. Not quite settling on the weight, just teetering. If I keep going, I'll hit the mid-150's by this Summer... just about right for some good races, huh? I also need to start up and consistently run again. I've gotten onto the bike trainer and spun for a while, but that quickly gets boring.

I will need to get out and run a bit in the next few days and hopefully get back up to speed. The running really helps my climbing prowess on the bike... as well as my overall endurance conditioning. I will write more as I put the pedal to the metal again...

Another quick note... I have been doing push-ups for a bit now and my arms are just starting to build some good definition. I have been trying to find a way to do some chinning work, but no luck so far with my available resources. I have started to do a variety of curls... just to balance the triceps out a bit. It should look good when I sport the sleeveless jerseys on the trail again this year....

Quick Update

I've whacked the weight down to 163.5lbs and 9% body fat. No it's not a diet. It is stress. The company I worked for for a total of 13.5 years did a 10% cut off the top of the entire budget... and my position along with another 49 unfortunate souls rolled on the ground about 2 weeks ago. In the first couple of days I reached the 163.5 mark without even trying. My workouts have wained quite a bit this Winter so it wasn't anything like that. I've settled in to 164-165lbs and 11-12% and since I have a bit of extra time, I can throw in a little workout in the AM. Plus, since it is still the dead of the cold season and the white stuff keeps falling, I get plenty of shoveling in to boot. Anyway, that's where things are and I hope the situation starts to look up sooner rather than later. Emotionally, I'm sure I'm a basket case, but that is something I have no time to deal with at the moment.
