Pre-cursor... Fitness NOW!
I am going to use this as my fitness log. I have always kept track but have slacked for quuite some time. I went on a journey about 3 years ago and in 3 months went from just shy of 190lbs down to 160lbs. This past summer, the summer of 2005, I managed to hit my lowest weight since I believe middle or early high school... actually, I think it was middle. I hit 152lbs. Mind you, I felt like crap and realized the weight for what I was doing was much too light. You see, I am a cyclist and at that weight, I lost some endurance or so it felt like it. So I gained some back and at my annual ritual at the Iceman Cometh Challenge in Traverse City, MI, I shaved 25 minutes and 6 seconds off my previous time and got cheers and kudos for my downhilling prowess, my mean climbing ability, my cherished Bontrager bike, and for just being me at the finish line. A first since much of my cycling is a solo sport for me... little support from my loved ones... just a handful of friends and acquaitances I see when i visit the bike shop or go for a ride. The point here is that I gained upto 162lbs for the race and felt good, but a touch heavy. But a few weeks prior to the race, I began a second regimine of cardio-weights with my wife. We spend anywhere from 1-2hrs in the gym, 3 times per week. This ate at my normal cycle-run routine so I did less of that. We have fallen off in the last few weeks due to work stress, redoing my kitchen (right down to 100 year old studs) and the holidays. So now I hit 170lbs. and this is where I am today. I will now begin the next phase of fitness... right now.
