Still trying to get below the 170 mark and on my way to the low 160's. But it still hasn't happened. My upper body is shaping up nicely but for some reason the tire is still inflated (that's my gut and love handles).
I began to panic when I started pulling on clothes from last summer (shorts, jerseys, t-shirts) that fit then, but are now just a touch snug. My wife is in the same boat but has loftier goals than I for weight and fitness. We made a plan to head to a nice warm place in late August or early September. We have until then to meet our marks.
I plan on running 2-3 times per week and build upto 5-6 miles during a lunch hour. I have been able to do a 7:30 pace on 5K races, so that should come quickly. I have to curb the eating just a bit as well. I know my body wants more food when I am working out... I just can't let it get the best of me.
I used to eat whatever I wanted and nothing would happen so long as I kept active. Now I still keep active yet I have to start controllong my eating. Ah, old age.
