Post Holiday Fatso

Wow... I've gained a touch of weight. Don't know how much, I can just feel it! Ah well. Its a time to look into 2007 for my fitness goals and set them. I am again railing the Iceman Cometh in November (see my CYCLE•CENTRIC blog for some insight) and hope to do better. But I also plan on doing at least 1 5K in the Spring, 1 century bike ride in the summer, and quite possibly Duathalon (Tri if I can get swimming again). The XXathon is a new "terra" series called the Tri-X coming to Michigan. Also, I have a weight/fitness goal of 168lbs by April 1 and 158lbs by September (I need to be cut and proportional by this time as I will be attending a friend's wedding up in Minneapolis). Sounds easy, but I will be concentrating on building more muscle to be able to do the events. I'd like to attain some ab definition which would be a first for all of my siblings.

As far as the ADA rides, I plan to skip it. The reward to effort ratio is really really sucky and it is more dismaying to Captain a team than it is worth. Maybe a leukemia ride instead. Right now, I am going out to rebuild two of my bikes. Also, I've instigated a MTB New Year's ride (on my other blog). Way to start the new year right out of the gate.

Another side is that my wife is hinting on joining WeightWatchers. And she wants me to join her. I don't think I need to go for myself (just need to kick in the discipline) but I believe I need to go just to support her. Double the cost, but I suppose anything to help her get underway as well. She has to go to the September wedding as well and has her own fitness goals to attain.

Wish us luck!
